Our story - purebred horses and the passion of the Ducar family from Râșnov
For me and my family, purebred horses are not just an occupation, but a heartfelt legacy. As horse breeders from generation to generation, we received this love from my grandfather and great-grandfather, who had the honor of caring for the horses of the royal family of Romania. Today, in Râșnov, I carry on this tradition through Centrul de Echitație Diana.
My father – Dr. Constantin Ducar, a life alongside horses
My father, Dr. Constantin Ducar, lived his whole life close to horses. He knew these animals from the age of 5, and at 12 he received his first horse. Even in the difficult times of communism, when the family was seen as „kulaks” for owning several horses, his passion never faded.
With over 45 years of experience in agriculture and veterinary medicine, he always raised the horses with respect and love, inspiring me to follow the same path.
Hippotherapy – healing through the bond with the horse
A very important aspect for us is hippotherapy – therapy through riding. Horses have a special energy, hard to describe in words, but which you feel as soon as you touch them.
That is why we frequently organize camps for children with concentration difficulties or disabilities, where riding becomes a form of balance and healing. It is amazing to see how a child regains their confidence and calm alongside a horse.
How I grew up with the horses
I, Diana, was put in the saddle from the age of 3. Today, I am a riding instructor.
Unforgettable stories and encounters
Over time, my father formed friendships with many personalities who filmed in Brașov. Among them, the famous Kevin Costner, passionate about horses and the authenticity of mountain life.
These stories show us that, regardless of status or fame, the love for horses manages to bring people closer together.
